Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How do I clean my glassware?

Most pieces should be washed by hand with warm soapy water and a soft cloth or bristle brush. Never put boiling water into your glassware. Refer to your product's page on this site - we've included product-specific instructions on each product page!

If you need to deep-clean your carafes, for instance if you have hard water and they become scaly, we recommend citric acid, vinegar or sodium bicarbonate (baking soda). Baking powder has an antibacterial effect and easily dissolves calcified residues. To clean, add a tablespoon of citric acid or baking soda to hot water, then add cold water. You can fill this mixture into the carafe or glasses and leave it there for 2-12 hours. Make sure that you wash the carafes or glasses completely before using them again.

Nature's Design products are made from lead-free, food-safe glass. Can you explain?

There are many different compositions of glass in the world. But everyone has their own secret recipe. In general, our glass consists of:

  • silicon oxide SiO2
  • aluminum oxide Al2O3
  • sodium oxide Na2O
  • boron trioxide B2O3 or calcium oxide CaO or potassium carbonate K2CO3.

Do Nature's Design carafes also remove dirt, deposits from the water or kill bacteria etc.?

No. The carafes do not filter the water. If you are concerned about water quality, we suggest investigating water filtration products and systems separately.

Where do you ship to?

We ship to Canada and the United States. If you're in another country, see the list of country distributors of Nature's Design products.
